  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Best tape backup software (for use with autochanger)

I have a Suse OpenExchange server and in the past I have used 'dump' as the tape backup software which has worked fine.

I have approx 35GB to backup and can use either a DAT12/24 drive or a DAT24*6 (6 tape autochanger). Oviously with the amount of data to be backed up using the autochanger would be the best solution.
However I have never used an autochanger with Linux and have no idea how easy it is to configure.

Can anyone give me any guidance for using an autochanger with dump or if that does  not work well alternative software.
