Browse All TopicsHello again. I want to install an internal Seagate SATA harddrive into a system with a regular harddrive with Suse Linux 9.2 installed. It said to intall the CD with the discWizard before hooking up the drive.
It does list all the files on the CDROM, but I don't know how to open the file it says to start with called welcome.htm, nor any others for that matter.
I am new to Linux and have also not ever installed a harddrive when there already was another one.
The harddrive box said right on it that it may be used with Linux, yet none of the instructions I'm reading anyplace say a word about Linux! grrr! To start off, it says to download and install DiscWizard off the CDROM. Then says this procedure requires that your computer is running a recent version of Windows OS. Great. There are no choices given for having Linux.
It goes on to say, open welcome.htm. Any idea what program will open it?
Then says click discwizard install link and choose a language under RUN WINDOWS DISCWIZARD and then follow those instructions. If necessary, dclick dwizen.exe to install discwizard. All the files listed are windows files. Any idea how to open the files and proceed?
My goal is to install the 2nd drive to put Windows 2000 on it AND to double boot, I believe it's called, so I can access both Linux and Windows files at the same time AND also have a separate drive for backing up data.
I appreciate your ongoing wonderful support. Thank you! Thank you!
