What is the difference between the different Red Hat Linux GRUB boot versions? ...

Asked by MarketGarden in Linux, Red Hat Linux, Linux Distributions

Hello,  I am new to Linux and need to know what is the difference between the different boot selections that are displayed on the Red Hat Linux GRUB boot screen.  On boot of my Linux machine I get the following:

GRUB version 0.90

Red Hat Linux Advanced Server (2.4.9-e.3smp)
Red Hat Linux Advanced Server-up (2.4.9.e.3)

What are there two boot selections shown and what is the purpose/difference between the two selections?

Thanks.Start Free Trial
