Browse All TopicsWe are currently running our web server on the following:
Pentium III - 1133MHz - 512M
2 hard drives mirrored - RAID controller
Red Hat 7.3 (2.4.20-20.7)
I have purchased a new server:
Pentium 4 - 3.0GHZ 1MB
2 hard drives (73 gb each) RAID controller
I want to easily "clone" the old server and move it to the new web server. Here are what I think my options are:
First, take the boot drive out of the new machine and add it as a 3rd drive in the the old machine. Boot Ghost (G4L - http://sourceforge.net/pro
The second option? Pull the 2nd drive out of the old machine and add one of the new drives (from the new server) in as the 2nd mirrored drive to the old. The "new" second drive should sync up to the boot drive. Once they sync, I should be able to pull the 2nd drive and put it into the new machine and the new machine should boot?
I am on the right path here? I am new to Linux and need all the help I can get. I appreciate any suggestions.
