Browse All TopicsI get an error that comes up when I startx.
Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such device)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.
I assume this is because the drivers are not installed correctly, or at all. But I am clueless from this point as to what to do next. The computer is a Sony Vaio PCG-FXA53. Windows says that the VIA AC'97 Audio Controller (WDM) is installed.
I have booted a SlaxLive CD. And I do get sound. Is there anything I can copy from it to get it to work?
Please help,
Thanks
