Browse All TopicsWe've run into disk space issue that apparently is caused by the # of sub directories in one directory on a Fedora v2 (2.6.14-051115a).
We want a total of 1800 sub-directory in main directory Health/. And each sub-directory would have about 46528 sub-directories. Totalling to 83750400 sub-directories in all.
Is this possible on ext3 system without any issues? inode? disk usage? If all sub-directories are empty...is it enough to eat up 100GB of hard disk space?
We tested the above by creating all the sub-dirs and immediately it ate up about 80GB of space?! Is it because there is a limit of sub-dirs on a Linux OS?
Can anyone help please?
