Remote desktop to Redhat Linux

I am using Redhat Linux AS as a testing machine to learn more about linux.  I would like to put this linux machine in a corner (and basically hide it) and connect to it through my windows xp pro machine when needed.  I can currently login through telnet, but I am so new to it that I don't know enough commands to be useful.  How can I login to my linux box and actually see the desktop when using X Windows? (the startx program)
