remote copy and execute from/to Windows to/from Linux/Windows

dear experts, happy new year.
I need to distribute (copying over) some scripts to target machine pools remotely (Windows and Linux), excute the scripts, then update the status.
I was thinking about RSH and SSH but I can't just install the services to all Windows images one by one then re-image them (too many). I learned Linux has those serivices up by default though.

So this includes:
1. copying script files and folders to Windows and Linux remotely, to targeting directories
2. remote executing the script files being copied over
3. finding out whether the remote executions are finished (status updates)

Please kindly shed me some holy light
