Question
Install Suse 9.0 ?
Hi Experts,
I have an XP laptop with a hdd with bad sectors. Have been trying to repair using Windows ChkDsk but this freezes half way through so now I cant even boot into Windows. So I am now thinking I should install linux in order to get the machine booted and recover whatever files I can before replacing the hdd.
I have Suse Linux 9.0 cds but seem to remember that I had to use boot disks prior to the CD when I installed before (few years ago now) Does this sound correct that I need to do this ? Or is there a more straight forward o/s to install that I should be considering.
