I have installed Oracle 10g on Fedora Core 5 successfully.
The following web site was very helpful:
http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/OracleDB10gR2InstallationOnFedora5.phpAt the end of Oracle's installation it showed me 3 urls to access Oracle:
"The following J2EE Applications have been deployed and are accessible at the URLs listed below.
iSQL*Plus URL:
http://localhost.localdomain:5560/isqlplusiSQL*Plus DBA URL:
http://localhost.localdomain:5560/isqlplus/dbaEnterprise Manager 10g Database Control URL:
http://localhost.localdomain:1158/em"
I was able to access the web pages of all URLs.
Q1. I rebooted my system, logged in as user Oracle.
I could not acess any of the urls.
The message shown in Firefox is:
" Unable to connect. Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost.localdomain.1158
"
Q2. After the installation was over, I was able to access all the 3 urls; however, I could not login using
system/manager,
sys/change_on_install,
scott/tiger
All passwords are set as default. I have not reassigned default passwords during or after installation.
Also during installation, i have unlocked the following users: ANONYMOUS, SCOTT.
