Now that there is vmware and other sw that allows running windows and linux within each other. I want to try. But I have so many questions that i need answers. I would like to seek your expertise opinion on this before I start revamping my computer os.
First question:
1) Is it better to run linux over windows or windows over linux ? I read somewhere saying that actually windows will run faster on linux host machine. Is it a myth or truth ?
2) I have a limited budget to play with especially this is new to me. Which SW is good to experiement with. I heard VM player is free but I can not install OS on it. It must be "precreated image". Am I right ?
3) If I am right about #2, what options are there for me to explore for free or limited spending ?
4) which linux is better ? Unbuntu, fedora 7 or something else. My immediate usage is just web browsing. But I want to setup the environment for more web hosting or setting up web server at home.
5) I have a AMD 64 bit CPU computer. There is 64 bit linux out there, will it be a problem to install regular windows on top of 64 bit unbuntu or other linux.
Your input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
