Hello group,
Why there are different methods of installation?! some go with yum, some go with rpm or just unzipping a tar file.
I have downloaded a software aka ImageMagick from and followed all the steps as discussed at
http://www.imagemagick.org/script/install-source.php#unixit works in term of command line but I need to use it in PHP.
Now, I found out that I need to add some PECL (no idea what it is!) and an extension to it to make it work in PHP !!!
In groups everybody says I had to use yum instead. My question is why there is no a single note about yum in the above page?!!! why they like to make everything confusing? specaily for newbies? I even asked a Linux admin who works for years in this field but didn't know what to do....!
I switched from Windows to Linux since I liked it but here we have a mess too.
Ok, now my quesiton is how can I remove the library I had unzipped using tar ? and start a fresh installation using yum?
Your help will be appreciated.
