Hi experts
I'm trying to give a friend of mine a hand by installing a distro of Linux and access Internet using huawei220 wireless USB modem.
I haven't decided what distro to install and my only requirement is that it's easy to install. Gentoo and Debian are not my options.
Another consideration is easy configuration of the huawei220 modem and hopefully i would be able to put an icon on the desktop so that my friend can click it and access Internet since he's got no idea about computers and i have to try my best to make everything as easy as possible.
Ubuntu looks good and easy to install and i've even found some resources here:
http://www.linux.ie/articles/tutorials/threeirelandUSBmodem.phphttp://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=643409but it still seems a lot of work for my friend. It would be impossible for my friend to use a command line and anything like that....that's why i said before that i need to put shortcut icons on the desktop to make things as simple and stupid as possible.
Maybe you would say well in that case i shouldn't even install Linux for my friend. but the thing is that my friend is on a shoe string's budget and doesn't want to fork out the money to buy Windows.
Any help would be much appreciated
