Linux distro supporting linksys wireless devices

Asked by Trivious in Linux, Wireless Networking, Linux Distributions

I am trying to find a Linux distro that can install and support Linksys wireless usb devices out of the box without downloading drivers. I would also like one that is lightweight as this is going on a limited machine.

Specs:
1Gb ram
1.8Ghz CPU
533 FSB

Mandriva 2008 with no 3D effects chopped out BIG TIME and it wanted to download the NDIS wrapper driver, which luckily I had on my jump drive, and it still failed to load the device config (i.e. it would scan avail networks and lock up). Thanks for your assistance.Start Free Trial
