Increase disk space on a Cpanel server

Asked by 5ga42adcy34 in Linux

Tags: Linux, CenOS, 5.1, Using cPanel

We have a CentOS 5.1 running cPanel linux machine that uses Label on the file system.
The /home mountpoint (sda6)is running out of disk space and we wanted to point it to a new disk with one slice (sdb1).
/home mountpoint contains the folders for services that are running and set to start automatically during normal run.
This disk and slice is formatted and  ready to use.

What would be the best approach/steps to accomplish considering the other goals we have:
1. Minimal downtime
2. Existing Ownership and Permissions are transferred on the new location

A clear step-by-step guide is very much appreciated.Start Free Trial
