Browse All TopicsFor some reason I can't get sendmail configured to sent e-mail outside the 'box' e.g. mymail@gmail.com. I am relatively new to Linux and especially running it under VMware
I've been working a day to get it working yesterday, without any success. The only thing I want is configure smtp in sendmail. Nothing more, nothing less but still.... :(
My configuration:
* Host: Windows XP sp3
* VMware: server 2.0.1 build 156745
* Guest: CentOS release 5.3 (Final)
* Network guest OS set on DHCP and connecting to the physical network by means of NAT
Things I've allready tried:
Using the smtp server provided by my ISP using the following tutorial:
http://cri.ch/linux/docs/s
Using gmail's smtp server by using the following tutorial:
http://tech.bluesmoon.inf.
In both cases no success. If I type from the terminal: mail -s test mymail@gmail.com followed by two ctrl-d I would expect an e-mail in my box, but no... If I tail the maillog (tail -f /var/log/maillog) I don't see anything happening ??
I don't see what I am doing wrong, so any help would be appreciated.
