"Before you can run VMware Workstation, several modules must be compiled and loaded into the running kernel.
Kernel headers 2.6.29.6-desktop-1mnb
Kernel headers for version 2.6.29.6-desktop-1mnb were not found..."
I assume that I must learn to compile the kernel but don't know where to start.
I hope someone can explain the process or point me to a tutorial which is understandable by a non-programmer.
I don't know whether or not this is relevant. I installed Mandriva over Ubuntu without formatting my /home partition. Is this likely to be part of the problem? I'd happily re-install from scratch if I thought it would help.
I've tried installing from a bundle and from an rpm package with the same result.
