also I know this question would not have any ending .. still
I have 40% of shell scripting knowledge ( i am still learning and i want to be a master of Shell scripting) and want to hold bash scripting for life..
but I want to learn another language either perl or python just purely for system administrating purpose and writing admin base programme ( i know its not easy but want to invest my time on that)
Now which is one is the best in practical life Perl or Python .
like real time activity monitoring programm, example realtime monitoring for apache , mysql server, its looks like python or C is the best choice for people to write those kind of problem.
example : http://blog.e-shell.org/ca
Under (Monitoring apache VirtualHosts activity)
there is a python script , which if you run, you will see a screen like top command. show real time data
then another programme iotop, which is IO monitoring system again its works like top command and made by python
but i did not see any Perl script to do something like that ..
so is there any limitation of perl ?? can you not create those kind of real time program by perl ??
can I say something like this, i can do same thing by perl and python, but something python can do but perl cant ??
i dont want to involve "C"
thanks
