Browse All TopicsI have been trying to join a red hat server as a member server to a 2008 Active Directory. I was able to use kinit administrator@domain.com to get a ticket. However when I try to join the domain I get the following: Failed to join domain: Improperly formed account name. I looked at the solution you have and made sure my hosts file contained the DC FQDM and IP. Still no luck. I then tried the likewise open that was suggested on the solution and I keep getting the following: Error: Lsass Error [code 0x00080026]
0x806B - Failed to lookup the domain controller for given domain. Check that
the domain name is correctly entered. Check that your DNS server is reachable,
and that your system is configured to use DNS in nsswitch. Check that port 389
UDP is not blocked by your firewall.
I have turned off the firewall, checked my nsswitch.conf file and made the DC which is also the DNS server the Primary DNS server for my Red Hat box.
I think I have spent about the last 3 days trying to get this working. I am not sure where to go from here. Please help!!
