The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Asterisk A2Billing outbound issues

Asked by jkockler in Linux, Asterisk Open Source Telephony, IP PBX Systems

Tags: asterisk, a2billing, linux

I am using Asterisk 1.4.x and A2Billing 1.4 - On CentOs 5.3 - logged in as root and everything was installed as root.

I am trying to make sense of what configuration A2Billing is using to make outbound calls, after the pin code is entered by the caller, plus I am sure I have a permissions issue, which is the underlying problem.

Currently I am able to make calls from the asterisk box, without the use of A2Billing, so we know asterisk , and my providers are configured correctly.

The problem is after A2Billing accepts the pin number, it is unable to dial out.  After I enter the number to dial, it states "the number you dialed is unavailable" and I do not see any errors coming across the asterisk console.

I am confused because there is an "additional_a2billing_sip.conf" with nothing in it.  I added a trunk, under the a2billing "providers" section, and I still see nothing in the a2billing_sip.conf file.   If I click the option automatically create the user in sip.conf, from the customer window, nothing ever changes in my sip.conf or the a2billing_sip.conf file.

If I try to modify the sip.conf file directly from a2billing, I get a write failed message.

Thanks!
