Browse All TopicsHi!
I'd like to use suPHP on my server, running Apache 2.2. I can get this to work with my control panel, so that's fine.
The problem I'm having is with things like phpMyAdmin. I am using Debian 5 (Lenny) and I try to use Debian's packager management tool exclusively, and the default installation of phpMyAdmin, for example, does not work with suPHP - some of the reasons for this are that the phpmyadmin files are in /usr/share/phpmyadmin and owned by root. What I could do is change the docroot setting in suphp.conf, and change the ownership of all the phpmyadmin files, but I'd prefer to be able to turn the suPHP engine off for stuff like phpmyadmin, phpldapadmin, etc.
So, what I'm wondering is - what PHP handler {can I/should I} use together with suPHP?
I'm not sure I can use mod_php5 (libapache2-mod-php5). I read that this was not recommended and would require me to switch from apache2-mpm-worker to apache2-mpm-prefork ...
What are my options? What about FastCGI?
