On Mac computers it is possible to hold down the T key while booting the computer into target disk mode, temporarily turning the computer into a dumb external HDD that can then be plugged into another computer to have its contents read or copied.
Is there a way to do this on a PC laptop? I'm guessing this is not possible with Windows, but I imagine there must be some way to do this using a Linux Live CD or perhaps the SystemRescueCD.
