Install Zorin OS 7
I purchased a used hard drive and installed Zorin OS 7 on it and when I opened it, it had Windows XP and Zorin OS 7. Anybody got an idea how this could possibly happen?

OK, this is going to sound weird, but now I can't get back to Windows XP, even when I hit F12 before boot up, it still goes to Zorin now, and I forgot my password, so I can't really do anything from that platform. This is just too weird. I bought this drive at a used parts store and the guy said it was blank, when I booted it up the first time, I did it from the CD into Live Zorin then hit install. It went just fine, then the next time I booted up, it went to Windows XP. But only that one time.
>> the guy said it was blank, << yeah, yeah - did you check it?
connect it to a working pc, and look in disk management
if needed, delete all it's partitions, then reinstall

Thank you charlielemay69
Now for the more interesting stuff did you check the HDD was empty before starting?
It's possible that there was an XP partiton on there that was hidden and the Zorin install noticed it and gave you a boot choice between the two.
Can you post a screen shot in the XP boot from Right Click on My Computer System Properties or just copy the Product ID details from that window (see http://marksxp.mvps.org/WindowsXP/prodid.php) which will help determine where this came from.
