intel 845 ac97 onboard audio driver suppport

i want to know that whether redhat 9 will support my pc with configuration as
intel 845GLAD motherboard
p4 1.7GHZ
onboard audio and video
samtron 56v monitor
40 GB HDD
128 DDR RAM

on this conf i install redhat 8 but it doesnot have monitor support, graphics support and audio support. graphical starup gives out of SYNC error and hangs . so i am now operating only console.
tell me RH9 supports all above drivers of my pc? or what should i do?

yes, it will (trhu the i830 chipset support, which is integrated and published by Intel at the adequate version even for a i845)

you can also download the driver from Intel and recompile a kernel (read the docs provided w the driver)

1.graphics support and monitor support:
   just download the drivers intel are giving on their web site.it will solve ur problem of video card as well as monitor.
2.sound card is still not supported.but i will suggest u two things:
   a).download or buy oss drivers for intel ICH4 sound card.download verision is not fully functional and will play sound only for 20 minutes.but u can buy the drivers from website.and it costs 20$.
  b).can't afford cost of drivers,then upgrade to kernel-2.5

by the way i have the same chipset.sometime ago i had the same problems

Just an update...
Install Redhat-9.0 and your problem will be solved..because it includes driver for Intel 845 chipset so video card and audio will be working without any tweaks....
