Does bigmem kernel support more then 2 cpu's?
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have Red Hat Linux release 7.2 Kernel 2.4.20-20.7smp with 3 processors and 4G of ram. I recently went to 6G, but realized smp only supports 4G. Is there an rpm kernel that supports both smp and bigmem or do I need to manually recompile a kernel to support over 3 processors and over 6G of ram?
Thanks

I think you already got the lastest RH 7.2 smp rpm and if it's still don't work you are best at rebuilding the kernel yourself. The options
you need are:
Processor type and features:
--> High Memory Support --> 64 GB
--> Symmetric multi-processing support.
