How do I install Windows on a Linux enabled machine?

Sirs:
     I don't understand Linux all that well yet, and have tried to install my Windows XP operating system on an already enabled Linux machine with Red Hat Fedora Core 5 installed. Can you give me a step by step exact set of instructions for creating and installing the 2nd partition for Windows and also how to get the Windows CD to begin installation succesfully on the 2nd partition?
