the raid controller i have installed is the ServerRaid 6i... is this controller supported in the default kernel 2.6.9-34.0.1.ELsmp?

Browse All TopicsI have just complete a fresh install on Centos43 on xSeries 345 IBM server. The machine boots up and get to the grub
prompt it then select an smp kernel to boot. At the point to hangs when attempting to load this kernel.
Has anyone come across this problem before?

You probably need special driver modules to load a SCSI or SATA module for that system, which most likely isn't included in the default CentOS kernel. Check your hardware and download the linux kernel modules for it, which you need to apply via floppy whenstarting the installation, or try installing the OS to a standard IDE Harddisk.
