Linux/Unix cron automation

Hi folks,


I do work in oracle and basically want to automate some queries on my unix system and im not too sure on how to do it, im relatively comfortable using the bash shell interface, but im not sure on how to get stuff started up with regards to automating things.

Ive been told that I need to setup a crontab to do this but the steps or some ideas on the steps would help me out.


Again im new to the whole automation stuff so i hope i was clear with the explanation.
