Intel Server mobo S3200. Trying to install RHEL 5.1 on raid 1 array, set in bios and configured thru LSI bios screens. There is a floppy connector on the mobo, but I cannot get it to work, or even show up in the board's bios screens.
Downloaded the Intel Raid drivers for RHEL 5, and used rawrite to create a diskette, but since I don't have a flopply available to me, I copied the files onto a USB key.
Start the RHEL 5 install (linux nostorage) and hit F2 on the driver screen. System reads the USB key, but since there is no txtsetup.oem file, no additional drivers show up for me to select.
I don't know if this is a problem with Intel's drivers or something else. My experience with Raid drivers tells me that even if I could get a floppy working, since the txtsetup.oem file is missing, I would get the same results as I get now - no driver updates to choose from.
Every other driver diskette I have contains an txtsetup.oem file except the floppy for the S3200 mobo. Have things changed that radically since switching to ICHR9, such that no text file is needed?
Here is a list of the files on the floppy:
modules.alias
modules.cgz
modules.dep
disk-info
modinfo
pcitable
rhdd
pci.ids
modules.pcimap
replace_ahci.sh
replace_ahci_readme.txt
The contents of the pcitable file:
0x8086 0x2682 "megasr" "MegaSR|INTEL-ESB2"
0x8086 0x2683 "megasr" "MegaSR|INTEL-ESB2"
0x8086 0x27C3 "megasr" "MegaSR|INTEL-ICH7R"
0x8086 0x2925 "megasr" "MegaSR|LSI-NEC"
0x1000 0x0055 "megasr" "MegaSR|LSI-1068"
0x1000 0x0057 "megasr" "MegaSR|LSI-1064E"
0x1000 0x0059 "megasr" "MegaSR|LSI-1068E"
But since it is not in a txtsetup.oem file, the index of drivers available is not being presented to me.
Bottom line: how the heck do I install these raid drivers during the linux install?
