"so how do I run level 5? "

In each and every Linux system switcing between runlevels is as easy as typing the command as root or superuser:
init 3 ( if you need runlevel "3")  or telinit 3
or
init 5  ( if you want to get to runlevel "5") or telinit 5

( init and telinit have basically same functionality in switchin/changing system runlevels )

To check what runlevel you are curently in type:

runlevel
