connect to the linux serial ports with a cross cable, if it is possible, add a serial buffer box in between.
cat /dev/ttyS0 > log.txt &
will do the most simplest log

Browse All TopicsI have a 5ess switch which sends alarms to a serial printer via an rs232 port (1200-N-1). At present, I have a windows machine running procomm. I set the port in procomm to direct connect and turn capture file on. This saves tons of paper. I would like to use a linux computer to do the same thing. I am not a guru so remember that when answering.
