wifi access on Linux EE5

I have a laptop LC2430S which has a wifi card installed to access wifi
I seemed to have accessed WIFI before once about 3,4 months ago

Now I see on the top bar after reboot "x"  no network connection
Is there a way to trouble shoot this and be able to connect to wifi

I am  looking for any commands I can run, to confirm my wifi card is in, and enabled

What Linux distro are you using?

Do you have all the necessary info, like WPA key etc?

The distro is RHEL 5.0
As for the WPA, I have not got to the point to login to wifi of place I am staying at

I suggest to first disable all the security features on the wireless device you are connecting to, then check if you can access it.

Also, rhel is a rather conservative OS that doesn't support too many wireless NICs, so that could be a further issue.
