Thanks for that. I have already updated the sound card drivers which, incidentally, is NOT a soundblaster. The soundcard on board these machines are Realtek.
This did not resolve the problem!
In the end I uninstalled and reinstalled the emulator, which resolved the issue, but I would still rather have a less drastic course of action.

Yes, as IBM mentioned it is correct;
To resolve the problem, the customer will either need to update the Sound Blaster cards drivers or remove the card from the PC.
