Uninstalling Win95 and Installing 98 in MS-DOS

Hello All:

I'm an MS-DOS novice.  I have a laptop that I need to remove Windows 95 from and install Windows 98 (all in MS-DOS).  I thought I successfully removed windows by using the delete command; however, when I re-booted it keeps trying to load Win95 and gives the error messages:  "The following file is missing or corrupted" c:\windows\hinem.sys, c:windows\dblbuff.sys, and c:\windows\ifshlp.sys.  How do I get it to stop doing this so that I can install Windows 98 (finally) with a CDROM that I have.
