Hi all,
I am trying to do the following: Read in a file and then split out each line into a sepearte field. I have that part working, but am having a problem in that there are embedded & and , etc that are causing problems. I am working in the XP/NT environment. The input file is as follows:
BetaC908Beta & Company
The first 8 characters are the file name that it will output to and the balance is what is supposed to be in the file. I know the ^ will allow it to echo, but I don't control where the & or other symbols occur.

oooh... I found where the extra character was coming from. I ended up removing it when I posted the code, but it was in my test code. That's why I had to make it a 2. Thanks for pointing this out SteveGTR.
