As you said it works in the Safe Mode,
I can advise you to do the following:
1. boot into the Safe Mode
2. Get the list of running processes (for example right
mouse buton click on the taskbar and choose "Task Manager")
3. Write it down or remeber the names of the processes
4. Boot into the Normal Mode
5. Get the list of the running processes
6. Compare the both lists
7. By killing the processes one by one with following tries to run "EDIT"
you probably could find the cause of your problem.
Hope it will help.

maybe you don't have to switch to the 'full screen', you just increase the 'window' size, right click the shortcut of 'Command' or the 'command', go to 'propertities'->'Layout', increase the 'Screen buffer size' for Width and Height, and also increase 'Window size' for Width and Height, you may also adjust 'Window position'. In this way, you may get a full screen 'command'. or you try if you increase the 'Screen buffer size' to see if the 'full screen' is working or not.
If your Graphic Card is integrated with motherboard, you're using share memory with RAM, so you may still have problem with 'full screen' mode. But I think the above way should be getting a as big screen as what you want. And it's working.
Hope it could help you.

I've seen this question before and the result was that it was perhaps a video driver bug.
