Dekstop Dilemma

Asked by NigelRocks in MS DOS, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Net BIOS and NetBEUI

Experts,

I just ran a utility that I downloaded from Dell that installed a new BIOS on my machine.  Things seem normal except for the desktop.  All of my icons are in neat columns with absolutely no logic grouping.

Undeterred, I copied my desktop file from a backup on another machine, thinking that it would restore order to my desktop.  Not the case.  All of my icons were on the desktop, but the grouping was gone.

I spent a fair amount of time getting my icon groupings together.  For future reference, where are the location coordinates for desktop icons stored?Start Free Trial
