Just formated my dirve and installed a fresh copy of XP and now i have a problem installing applications containing CAB files (like Adobe photoshop, Nero burning rom, various games and even Microsoft directX etc)
* This is NOT a bad/corrupt cd-rom problem as i downloaded most of the installation packages/setups from the net (for example photoshop from
www.adobe.com and so on..) and further more, i tried downloading them several times before posting this messege.
* CAB files now assigned to WinRar
Here is the error messege (again from photoshop set-up):
"Error 1335.The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this
installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could
indicate a network error, an error reading from the
CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."
When trying to ignore/abort i get: "Internal Error 2350."
In most installations (not just photoshop) those numbers returns: Error 2350, Error 1335 (i`m begining to feel a bit like Hurley from "Lost" (-: ). After some Googling i found out that something might be wrong with my Windows Installer service so first i tried to unregister it and than register it again and when that failed i unregister it, renamed Msi.dll, Msiexec.exe, and Msihnd.dll to *.bak and installed it again ---> Didn't do me mach good....
Some more information:
* The XP installation passed smoothly from original cd, no other error messeges when running Windows
* Tried unloading my anti (virus-spam-spy-hacker) program, "Kaspersky" from memory and disconnected from lan when installed applications---> Didn't work too.... )-:
