Diabale Java Auto Update

Whe have java deployed to all 900 of our workstations.  On some it was installed manually, on others it was included in an image.

Some users are being prompted that there is an available update for java and the prompt also asked them to install it.  This could potentially cause problems as we have a web app that requires a particular version of java.  
What is the quickest way to disable this auto update feature on all 900 workstations.  Disabling each one manually from the control panel is not an option.  desktop os is xp pro sp2 and wondows 2000 sp4
