Unable to ping host names on a Novell network from a Windows domain across a static VPN

Good afternoon, experts.

Here is the scenario:

We have just connected a static VPN link between two Cisco firewalls. We have a Windows 2003 AD domain at site A and a Novell network at site B. We can ping by IP from site A to site B, but cannot resolve host names which tells me that DNS is not working properly.

I have set up forwarders on the site A Windows DNS server pointing at the Novell DNS server at site B. We still cannot ping their servers by host name, nor can we ping our servers from their network by short name or FQDN. I would have thought that my forwarders on the site A windows server would have at least let us ping their equipment by host, but then again, I'm not a Novell expert.

Any suggestions?
