Set file association ASSOC command
I'm working with a 2003 Terminal Server and am struggling to configure file association for PDF documents for all users. I basically need to configure the server to open PDF files with Adobe Reader 8, currently some users have PDF files associated w/ MS Paint which obviously doesn't open PDF files. I've researched this a bit and found the ASSOC command option but I can't figure out the exact syntax I have to use to make this work. Can anyone out there help? Looking for the exact syntax to associate PDF files w/ Adobe reader 8 on a Windows 2003 Terminal Server.

What's strange is that I cannot find an existing PDF FTYPE on any computer, not even computers that open PDF files successfully. I hesitate to create a new file type for PDF docs w/out understanding why one doesn't exist for PDF docs anywhere... any thoughts?
what result do you get with:
ASSOC .pdf
also, use FTYPE |more and post what you get back for acrobat and AcroExch.Document

The document I posted the link explains all you need in details and specifically gives Adobe as an example. Not sure if you read that. But again it is all there, step-by-step.
