I have a user with a Dell Latiitude D820 notebook. At his desk he is using a port replicator. When he shuts down and moves elsewhere, either upstairs to the conference room or to another office, boots up with a network cable plugged into the NIC and a live network port, he gets no connectivity. Checking for an IP address we see that the "Local Area Connection" is disabled. When he tries to enable it, it fails. Once back on the port replicator, all is fine. This happens whether or not he is on battery power or AC. I have disabled the setting that allows the NIC to be shut down to save power, but as I said, it happens on AC as well. He just called from one of our regional offices and can not connect to the network. I've checked everything I can think of with no resolution. Suggestions??
