Vista can't connect to the server. Fails user name / password.   XP works fine

I have a private network using an eSmith server.  I have both XP and Vista machines on the network.   Working with Explore the Vista box can see all of the workgroup members and servers, but I am unable to login to the server to get into the server's files.

The XP box doesn't have any problems because It has the login info. in the 'Stored User Names and Passwords" .

I am loging into both boxes as admin and both boxes as well as the server use the same password.

There must be something I need to set on the Vista box to get it to act the same as the XP box.  Does Vista append the box name to the User name when it trys to connect to the server? Start Free Trial
