Print Spooler Shuts Down Error ID 7023

Tags: Microsoft, Windows, 2000 Pro, Service Control Manager Event ID 7023. Print Spooler Service Terminated with error "The access code is invalid", On Startup Print Spooler starts automatically but terminates shortly there-after with the above error mesage. Can be resatred manually but again terminates even if I do nothing

I have been running Windows 2000 Pro for a number of years on several computers, with local and network printers, both USB and Parallel interfaces.

All of a sudden, on my home computer the Print Spooler shuts down with Event ID 7023 and an error message "Invalid Access Code" I can manually restart the print spooler but it will shut down shortly there after. It will shutdown after a system restart with no applications running. Cannot find a description for Event ID 7023 and cannot find any reference to "Invalid Access Code"

I assume that there is some system error, which could be resolves by reinstalling Windows, but that would require re-installing all my programs Start Free Trial
