Can't Restart "PXE-MoF Exiting PXE ROM"

I just installed Cowon's Jet-Audio which seemed to go fine on a friend's Compaq Presarion V4000 with XP Home.  I unplugged the power cord to move the laptop and it shut down by itself, but when it tries to restart, it stays in a DOS loop that keeps repeating:

For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810X PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v 2.13 (020326)
PXE-E61 Media test faliure, check cable
PXE-M0F Exiting PXE ROM
