- goto Tools --> internet Options
- on the General Tab choose Settings (Under Tabs option)
- Choose for "A new tab in the current window" in the Open links from other programs in option

When opened IE link it has to open as a tab in the same opened window.
Hi,
When opened IE link it has to open as a tab in the same opened window.
Is there a option where in i can select to open it always in the windows thats opened as an additional tab.

Hello bsharath,
1. The problem is likely to do with interference from addons. Disable all toolbars, including Google and Yahoo toolbars. If not joy, disable all addons and test.
2. Toogle the option. Uncheck "Always open pop-ups in new tab". Save change. Restor IE. Check "Always open pop-ups in new tab." Save change. Restart IE.
Hit CTRL and a link, you should expect a new tab to open.
Some links forces you to open in new window. The solution is to right click on a link and select open in new tab.

There's nothing YOU can do programmatically to achieve that. That is a user preference and browsers give "ultimate" control to the users.
