I have seen many questions like this, but the answers are usually
"you cant do that" or "i wont tell you because..."
Scenario:
We have a remote server that we support.
Server specifially is a telephony type server.
End User does not want a remote management software/access loaded at all times, nor do they want a port forward/hole in thei firewall.
End User needs us to support "on demand" and the server might be unattended by a human.
Server will go into "locked" status. (Press cnt-alt-del...)
We can program our telephony application to run executables, vbs etc to do items based on phone call and executing commands via the telephone.
We have a remote support program (like webx, pcanywhere - etc) that works fine with this client.
We have a script that will enter the username and password, log into the system, and execute the remote support session if the name/password/login screen is showing.
Problem - if the system has entered the locked state we cannot figure out how to issue programatically the control-alt-del to sequence get to the login screen.
Caveats/comments:
A reboot is not an option
"microsoft says it must be local" is untrue. Other programs do this (VNC for example)
Logging off the current user and logging in as another is not an option. (the screen may be displaying something transient that we require to see)
A 3rd party program would even be acceptable if it was affordable, but I cant Imagine needing to pay for this :)
Please, any assistance would be appreciated.
