Detecting a file open event in VB .Net

I need to be able to detect when an Excel file is opened within a network folder.  Ideally I need something like the Watcher class which throws up events if any file is changed in a specified folder.  Unfortunately the watcher class generates messages for all evenets other the file open event.  Does anyone have an alternative using Win API calls that can capture this event?Start Free Trial
