I have a company laptop, Dell D620.
At different times throughout the day, it will just lag badly - 100% cpu utilization. And it's no single process - it's spread out among 6 or so.
Available memory seems to be fine, commit charge is about 650/4959M
I did some perfmon investigation, but couldn't really trace it to anything specific. Although I did increase my pagefile to the recommended size - it was a bit lower than that (it's now 3067MB).
And I can't really seem to duplicate it - it just naturally occurs at the least opportune times...
For the primary apps, I'm running Outlook 2k3, Excel (occasionally), an RDP session or two, and maybe an instance or two of Visual Studio. In addition, I'm running Avaya IP Softphone and all this on a cisco VPN connection.
Would love some collaboritive help here - although I don't expect it to be a quick fix, yet I am putting max points on here - problem just seems to have surfaced this week. Only one install that I know of, an sms deployed company app package that is basically in a 'stopped' state until needed.
Let me know if any more detail is needed. I'd really like someone that's more familiar with perfmon traces to get their hands in here...any takers? :^)
