I have installed Windows 2008 Server on a Dell 2800 server. The server did not have a DVD drive, so the OS was loaded using a bootable USB jump drive.
At bootup, I am presented with 2 choices, Windows 2008 Server, or Windows 2008 Server Setup.I am guessing that something went awry during the install process. If I select the Windows 2008 Server, it continues to properly boot up and everything is fine.
The problem is that the Setup is the one that gets select by default, so I have to wait until it reaches that point, then manually select Windows 2008 Server. If I let it default, I end up getting a bootup failure.
I tried to use the BCDEDIT command, but the 2008 Server Setup does not appear, but the 2008 Server one does. I also downloaded a utility called VistaBootPro, which is a GUI utility for Vista and 2008 Server, but it shows the same thing.
So, how can I delete the unneeded Windows 2008 Server Setup from the bootup sequence, or if I can't get rid of it, how can I make it default to the Windows 2008 Server choice?
Thanks
